LEAD: John H. Baer, a textile industry executive, died on Tuesday at the Hotel Norfolk in Nairobi, Kenya, while on a business trip. He was 71 years old and lived in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.
John H. Baer, a textile industry executive, died on Tuesday at the Hotel Norfolk in Nairobi, Kenya, while on a business trip. He was 71 years old and lived in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.
He died of a heart attack, his son, Arthur, of Manhattan, said.
Mr. Baer, who was educated in Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1938, was president of the international division of A. Sheftel & Sons, an international textile company based in Allentown, Pa. Before that he was a textile dealer as head of Baer Fibers Inc. in Manhattan.
Besides his son, he is survived by his wife, Ruth, and a sister, Marta Herz of Manhattan.
