Passed away peacefully on Monday, November 10, 2008 in San Francisco.

A San Francisco native and graduate of Castilleja School and Stanford University, she was a talented golfer, bridge player and dynamic and esteemed member of our community. She was a board member of the Institute on Aging and a member of Lake Merced Golf and Country Club and the Concordia-Argonaut Club.

An avid athlete, she met her late husband, Harold J. Baer, on the courts of the California Tennis Club. A loving union of 52 years ensued until his death in 1999.

Marion stoically endured many years of debilitating illness but retained her spirit, strength, and graciousness through it all. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She will be deeply missed by all, especially her adoring three children, Hal (Jeannie) Baer, Carol (Tony) Mandour and Janet (Micah) Broude. "Grams" will forever be in the hearts of her seven granddaughters: Jessica, Stephanie, and Amy Baer, Loryn (Andy) Benedict, Kristen

Mandour, Danielle and Allison Broude and; two great-grandsons, Alex and Cooper Benedict. She leaves behind her devoted brother, Fillmore (Barbara) Marks, the late Eleanor Marks; her sister-in-law, Tutta Baer; and her late brother-in-law, Frederick Baer.

Heartfelt thanks to her devoted physician of many years, Dr. Jim Davis as well as her caregivers, Lupe' Pavon and Nida Angeles for their unwavering support.

Services will be held at Congregation Emanu-el, Arguello Blvd. and Lake St., on Friday, November 14th at 1 p.m.
