Esther R. Sanger YORK Esther R. Sanger, 90, died Wednesday evening, November 14, 2007, at the Harrisburg Hos pital, following a brief illness. She was happily married to the late Martin Sanger for 62 years. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the South Hill Hebrew Cemetery, Old Baltimore Pike, York. Shiva service will be held immediately following the graveside service at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Sanger. There will be no viewing. Officiating at the service will be Rabbi Irwin Goldenberg. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., Glen Rock, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Sanger was born on May 15, 1917, in Bayonne, N.J., the daughter of the late Jacob and Anna. She will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Sanger was a member of Temple Beth Israel, Sisterhood, Hadassah, The Jewish Community Center of York, Outdoor Country Club of York, Blue Ridge Country Club of Harrisburg, and PalmAire Country Club of Pompano Beach, Fla. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband Martin. Mrs. Sanger is survived by her two daughters, Gail Sanger Raphael of Pittsburgh and Janice Sanger Hendler of Harrisburg; a son, Richard Sanger of York; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions may be made to Temple Beth Israel, 2090 Hollywood Drive, York 17402; or the Jewish Home of Greater Harrisburg.
