OBITUARY
George A. DeMarco Jr., 74, of Spring Lake Heights, a Newark educator, died yesterday in the Medical Center at Princeton.
A Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Catharine's Church, Spring Lake Heights, following the funeral from the O'Brien Funeral Home, Hwy. 35 and New Bedford Rd., Wall.
Mr. DeMarco was the vice principal of the Mount Vernon Street School and later the Marcus Garvey Elementary School, both in Newark, before retiring in 1986.
He received a bachelor of arts degree from Panzer College and a master's degree from Montclair State University.
He served in the Army Air Force during World War II.
Born in Newark, he lived in Bloomfield for 20 years, settled permanently in the shore area in 1983 and moved to Spring Lake Heights nine years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Delia M.; a stepson, Dr. Nicholas V. Polifroni; two daughters, Mrs. Joanne M. DeRosa and Mrs. Paula A. Kaufman; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Pauline Leland; two brothers, Vincent and Victor, and eight grandchildren.
