     Moriz (Moses) Löwenthal was born on 15 September 1830 at Aldingen, Ludwigsburg, Württemberg.1 He lived between 1859 and 1915 at Esslingen, Württemberg, Germany.1 He married Emma Thalheimer, daughter of Loeb Manasse Thalheimer and Bräunle Kaufmann, on 3 November 1859 at Stuttgart, Württemberg, Germany.1 From Jüdisches Leben in Esslingen: Moriz Löwenthal betrieb zunächst eine Speisewirtschaft in der Pliensaustraße 63 (A 1868). Wenige Jahre später hat er daneben noch eine Viehhandlung eröffnet. In den Adreßbüchern 1876 bis 1886 firmierte er als >> Wirt und Viehhändler<< in der Pliensaustraße 46. 1900 wird er nur noch als Viehhändler bezeichnet. Er wohnte in der Obertorstraße 45/47, dann bis zu seinem Tod als Privatier in der Obertorstraße 45,2.1 Moriz (Moses) Löwenthal died on 12 March 1915 at Esslingen, Württemberg, Germany, at age 84.1

Teilhaber der Offenen Handelsgesellschaft waren Moriz Löwenthal und Moriz Oppenheimer; als Prokurist wirkte Leopold Löwenthal. Die Firma ist am 13.Juni.1902 erloschen, vermutlich im Zusammenhang mit der Zurruhesetzung von Moriz Löwenthal und wurde als >>Firma Moriz Oppenheimer<< fortgeführt. Leopold Löwenthal eröffnete wenig später eine Handlung für chemisch-technische Produckte, Waschmittel, Öl-und Fettwaren (A 1910/31 Obertorstraße 45,1). Er starb am 4.März 1932 und wurde im israelitischen Teil des Ebershaldenfriedhofs beigesetzt (NIV-78). Nach seinem Tod betrieb ette das Geschäft weiter bis zur zwangsweisen Schließung im Dezember 1938 (es befand sich bis zuletzt in der Obertorstraße 45,1 A 1935/37).2 Leopold Löwenthal died on 4 March 1932 at Esslingen, Württemberg, Germany, at age 67.2

In 1940 she went to the Jewish home for the aged. She was resettled to Tigerfeld in April 1942.2 Rosalie Löwenthal was deported on 22 August 1942 at Tigerfeld, Württemberg, Germany, to Theresienstadt.2 She died after 29 September 1942 at Death Camp, Maly Trostinec, Belarus.2

Rosa left the Jewish community in 1923. In October 1944, she was forcefully "evacuated"with her husband to Tierhaupten (Täferrot). On 12 February 1945 she was deported to Theresienstadt, from where she returned in June 1945 very sick to Tierhaupten and in October 1949 went again to Esslingen. She lived with her husband in 1956 at Neckarstraße 85.1 Rosa Löwenthal died on 30 April 1956 at Christophsbad, Göppingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, at age 57.1

     Erna Marx was born on 6 April 1902 at Tübingen, Württemberg, Germany.1 Hermann Löwenthal studied physics since the winter semester 1923/24 in Tübingen and earned a docatorate as a Dr. rer. nat. phys. He lived in Tübingen last in 1930 at Melanchthonstraße 21. At the end of April 1933 both he and his wife left Tübingen and went to Esslingen, where they lived the following years at Oberen Betau 53. Hermann Löwenthal was in the parental "Firma Leopold Löwenthal, Waschmittel,-, Öl- und Fetthandlung" as a traveler and buyer. Hermann was incarcerated in the concentration camp Dachau from 11 November 1938 to 23 December 1938. Shortly before the outbreak of the war, on 25 August 1939, the family was able to emigrate to the USA. The lived in Rockford, Illinois and later moved to Chicago.1 She married Dr. Hermann Löwenthal, son of Leopold Löwenthal and Jette Wertheimer, on 13 April 1933 at Tübingen, Württemberg, Germany.1 As of 13 April 1933,her married name was Löwenthal.

     Adolf (David) Levi was born on 7 November 1833 at Esslingen, Württemberg, Germany.1 He married Julie Dessauer, daughter of Philipp Dessauer and Lea Levi, on 15 January 1863 at Stuttgart, Württemberg, Germany.1 On 1884 his name was legally changed to Adolf Lener.2 From 1848 to 1851 Adolf Lener did an apprenticeship as a confectioner in Stuttgart and was then operated as a confectioner there (at Calwerstraße 36 1/2). He later lived at Mühlhausen i.E. He abandoned his Esslinger citizenship in 1886.2 Adolf (David) Levi died on 11 March 1918 at age 84.1

Er. konnte seine Viehhandlung in der Obertorstraß 45 seit Januar 1935 nur noch eingeschränkt führen. Am 31. Dezember 1938 wurde ihre Schließung angeordnet. Er wohnte mit seiner Frau und dem Sohn in der Neckarstraße 85,1 und war der letzte Vorsteher der israelitischen Gemeine Esslignen. Nach der Pogromnacht kam er vom 10. November 1938 bis zum 12.Dezember 1938 in KZ Dachau. Von 1939 bis zur Deportation 1941 war er als ungelernter Arbeiter dienstverpflichtet.2 Berthold Oppenheimer died after 1 December 1941 at Riga, Latvia.2
