Die Firma ist am 13.Juni.1902 erloschen, vermutlich im Zusammenhang mit der Zurruhesetzung von Moriz Löwenthal und wurde als >>Firma Moriz Oppenheimer<< fortgeführt. Leopold Löwenthal eröffnete wenig später eine Handlung für chemisch-technische Produckte, Waschmittel, Öl-und Fettwaren (A 1910/31 Obertorstraße 45,1). Er starb am 4.März 1932 und wurde im israelitischen Teil des Ebershaldenfriedhofs beigesetzt (NIV-78).
