Jakob Geissmar was Landgerichtsrat.1,2 He was retired in November 1933. He was deported in June 1934 to Poecking.2 He was deported on 17 April 1943 at Theresienstadt Concentration Camp, Terezín, Czechoslovakia, to.1,2 He wrote a diary in verse at Theresienstadt.1,2 He died on 17 December 1943 at Theresienstadt Concentration Camp, Terezín, Czechoslovakia, at age 75.3 Another source has death on Mar 1, 1944.2

     Johanna Geissmar was born on 1 December 1877 at Mannheim, Baden, Germany.1,2 She was born on 1 December 1877 at Saig in the Black Forest, Germany.2 She was the daughter of Joseph Geismar and Klara Regensburger. Johanna Geissmar was a pediatrician.1,2 She was deported on 22 October 1940 to Camp de Gurs and later to Auschwitz.2 Werner Frank: "She has become a legend, mention of her in most books about Gurs, specifically in "Menschen in Gurs". A pediatrician by training, she was one of the doctors that worked the hospital at Gurs. She volunteered for deportation from Gurs (to Auschwitz from Drancy), even though she was not obligated, in order to stay with her patients and also try to find her brother who had been deported earlier from the Munich area. She was single."3 She died on 12 August 1942 at Auschwitz Extermination Camp, Oswiecim, Poland, at age 64.1,2
