Morris Heinsheimer1

2nd cousin 6 times removed of Alexander Cody Calzareth
Morris Heinsheimer was born on 29 August 1825 at Eppingen, Baden, Germany.2,3 Morris Heinsheimer was also known as Moses Heinsheimer.2,3 He was the son of Levi Heinsheimer and Teiche (Teresa) Dreifuss. Morris Heinsheimer was also known as Moritz Heinsheimer.4 One source, Das Stammbuch der Familie Heinsheimer, lists Moses with a death date of 12 June 1830. This seems incorrect as the Eppingen Ortssippenbuch does not show this Moses with a death date. Further the couple apparently had another son, Moses, several years later, who the OSB Eppingen lists with the death date of 12 June 1830. As it would be unusual to have two children with the same name, when the first was still alive, further research must be performed to sort the situation out.5 He married Julia Loeb on 29 August 1855 at Hamilton Co., Ohio.6 Morris Heinsheimer, age (an unknown value) appeared on the census of 1 June 1870 at Dubuque, Dubuque Co., Iowa, as the first family member listed on the page.7
Morris Heinsheimer was listed as the head of household on the 1880 census on 1 June 1880 78 Fourteenth St., Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. Also living in the house was his wife, Julia Loeb, his son, Max Heinsheimer, David Heinsheimer and Harry Heinsheimer, his daughter, Hannah Heinsheimer and Jennie Heinsheimer.8 Morris Heinsheimer was buried on 7 April 1915 at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.4

  5. [S54] This conclusion was reached by comparing the information in Stammbuch der Familie Heinsheimer, Ortssippenbuch Eppingen, and U.S. Census records. The census records show a Moses Heinsheimer, born about 1825. The family is in Cincinnati, and so in all likelihood from Eppingen. This is the only Moses Heinsheimer born near 1825.
