He was the son of Seligmann Fromm and Ricka Strauß.² Sol Fromm served in ther German Artillary from 1 January 1915 to 15 March 1919.³ He married Bertha Goldschmidt, daughter of Josef Goldschmidt and Rosa Bär, on 21 December 1930 at Karlsruhe, Baden, Germany.¹ Sol Fromm and Bertha Goldschmidt lived from 3 April 1934 to March 1939 at Augustenstr. 44, Stuttgart, Württemberg, Germany.⁴ Sol Fromm applied for an Immigration Visa as a quota immigrant on 20 February 1939 at U.S. Consulate, Stuttgart, Württemberg, Germany.⁵ He and Bertha Goldschmidt immigrated on 30 March 1939 to New York, New York, aboard the SS Manhattan, which departed from Hamburg, Germany. She was born on 15 March 1915 at Liblice, Austria-Hungary. She was the daughter of Hugo Klinger and Ida Glaser. Trude Klinger married Paul Sooke on 2 April 1936 at Prague(?), Czech Republic. As of 2 April 1936,her married name was Sooke. Trude Klinger died on 21 January 1969 at London, England, at age 53.

The 1729 census of the the Jews in the district of Bretten lists Raphael as born in Neckarsulm and under protection in Weingarten since 15 May 1722. In listing of Jews of Bretten there are two Herz Weingartners, #704 and #705. One has the middle name of Isaak and the other Isaias (Schai). I believe these are the same persons. He was born in 1743 at Weingarten, Karlsruhe, Baden, Germany. He was the son of Esaias Rafael and Rehle Moses. Herz Esaias Weingärtner moved to Bretten, Karlsruhe, Baden, Germany, in 1772 from Weingarten, Baden. Herz Esaias Weingärtner married Nendel Ettlinger on 23 November 1772 at Bretten, Karlsruhe, Baden, Germany. Herz Esaias Weingärtner was citizen on 4 March 1813 at Bretten, Karlsruhe, Baden, Germany.
