     Julius Koppel was born in 1877 at Bretten, Karlsruhe, Baden, Germany.1 He married Meta Fuchs, daughter of Nathan Fuchs and Babette Bär, on 4 November 1909 at Bruchsal, Baden, Germany.1,2 Julius Koppel and Meta Fuchs emigrated on 6 August 1939 from Germany to Johannesburg, South Africa.1 In 1962, three years after the death of his wife, he returned to Berlin, Germany, where his daughter, Gerda was living.1 Julius Koppel died in 1969 at Berlin.1
