The descendants of Esaias Rafael are defenitely Israelites meaning that Maier Klein cannot be one of them.¹ He married Marianne Loew Benjamin, daughter of Loew Benjamin and Mendle (Mindel) Abraham. Maier Esaias, age 50, adopted the name M.E. Klein in 1809 at Weingarten, Karlsruhe, Baden, Germany. The family also consisted of his wife, Merge, age 45, and his children, Liebmann, age 26, Benjamin,
age 22, Löw, age 17, Abraham, age 12, Hendle, age 15, Tauchele, age 6.² Maier Esaias Klein died on 28 December 1838 at Weingarten, Karlsruhe, Baden, Germany.
