Nov. 19,1922 - Jan. 18, 2005 Jean Levy, a longtime resident of Danville, passed away peacefully in Alamo after a yearlong illness.

Jean was born in Capron, Oklahoma. She graduated with honors from Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater, Oklahoma (now Oklahoma State University) majoring in chemistry and home economics. She also attended the University of Wyoming where she was an Alpha Chi Omega.

Jean married Milton L. Levy in Corpus Christi, Texas where Milton was attending a Navy Electronics School. Jean passed away on the 62nd anniversary of their marriage.

Jean was active in a number of things. Early in her marriage she taught chemistry and home economics at Baker High School in Baker, Oregon. In 1952 she moved with her family from Oregon to California, settling in Danville in 1958. She was secretary of the California Tax Service, partner of Milton Levy and Associates and vice president and secretary treasurer of Milton Levy Advertising, Inc. She was secretary of the Danville Estates Homeowners Association and a member of the Danville Renewal Corporation. Jean was a charter member of the Mt. Diablo chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and served as Chapter Regent from 1976-1977. She also held most of the offices of the chapter during her more than 50 years of membership in the DAR.

Jean's greatest hobby was traveling having gone on numerous cruises and tours throughout the world. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Maui with their family.

Jean is survived by her loving husband, Milton, beloved sons, David of Fairfax, VA and Charles and daughter-in-law, Susan, of Clayton, CA and grandson, Nicholas of Fairfax, VA; caring sister, Joanna Pipkin of Denver, CO, and many nieces and nephews.

At Jean's request, Memorial Services will be private. Donations may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, 2051 Harrison Street, Concord, CA 94520, or to a favorite charity.
