     Julia Haas was born on 24 October 1874 at Darmstadt, Germany.2 She married Alfred Blum, son of Nathan Blum and Jeanette Bär.1 Her married name was Blum.1 Julia Haas and Alfred Blum emigrated in 1939 from Karlsruhe, Germany, to the Netherlands.3 Alfred and Julia were arrested on 9 April 1943 in Zwolle, Netherlands and within a few weeks were deported to Sobibor.1 Julia Haas died on 14 May 1943 at Extermination Camp, Sobibor, Poland, at age 68.2

     Alix Rosa Blum was born on 14 January 1901 at Karlsruhe, Baden, Germany.2 She was the daughter of Alfred Blum and Julia Haas.1 Alix Rosa Blum married Julius Cohn.2 Her married name was Cohn.2 In 1936 Julius and Alix moved with their son, Georg, to Zwolle in the Netherlands, which saved them for a few years. However, the family eventually was forced into hiding following the Nazi invasion there. Julilus and Alix Cohn survived World War II in hiding. They decided to have their son hide separately on the Molecaten estate in Hattem as they thought it would be less risky. However the Jews hiding on the Molecaten estate were betrayed leading to Georg's deportation to Auschwitz, where he was killed.2 Alix Rosa Blum died on 7 December 1972 at Netherlands at age 71.2

     Julius Cohn was born on 3 December 1904 at Wittem, Germany.1 He married Alix Rosa Blum, daughter of Alfred Blum and Julia Haas.1 In 1933 he received his doctorate in philosophy from the University of Hamburg.1 In 1936 Julius and Alix moved with their son, Georg, to Zwolle in the Netherlands, which saved them for a few years. However, the family eventually was forced into hiding following the Nazi invasion there. Julilus and Alix Cohn survived World War II in hiding.
