"Louis H. Prager, who celebrated the one hundreth anniversary of his birthday last October, died Thursday at his home, at 706 Madison Avenue, after an illness of two days' duration, due to old age.
Mr. Prager was born in Germany Oct. 18, 1799. About fifty years ago he came to the United States and engaged in business. In 1880 he retired, after amassing a fortune. Two months after the celebration of their golden wedding anniversary, in 1888, Mr. Prager's wife died.
Despite his great age, Mr. Prager was vigorous mentally and physically, and he daily took a stroll in the Park. His appearence did not indicate his advanced age, and his step was as spry as that of many men a score of years his junior. Age did not dim his interest in public affairs. He was an inveterate smoker, and had used alcoholic liquors in moderation since he was a young man. He read a great deal, and his eyesight never failed him. His family was noted for longevity. He leaves two daughters and a foster son, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.1 He was buried at Beth El Jewish Cemetery, 80-12 Cypress Hills Street, Ridgewood, Queens, New York.8

Jakob Wolf married Sprinz (?) between 1762 and 1763.3,4 Jakob Wolf married Zierle Legusch, daughter of Legusch (?), circa July 1765.5 Jakob Wolf was received into protection (Schutz) on 13 August 1772 at Mingolsheim, Baden, Germany, for a period of five years, although this was a renewal. As Jacob's first marriage was around 1762 to 1763, if each renewal was for five years, he was probably originally recepted in Mingolsheim in 1762.6 In 1792 the French invaded Mingolsheim and he and his family sought refuge in Schluchtern, where his father-in-law lived.7 He died on 7 October 1801 at Mingolsheim, Baden, Germany.8
