     Marx Bär was listed as the head of household on the 1880 census in 1880 358 Whitehall Street, Atlanta, Fulton, Georgia. Also living in the house was his wife, Ella Womack, his son, Charlie Baer, Clarence B. Baer and Walter H Baer, his daughter, Martha M. Baer.2 Max J. Baer's saloon was burglarized in the early morning hours of 26 May 1885.3
     Marx Bär was listed as the head of household on the 1900 census on 4 June 1900 Ferry (?) Road, Battle Hill (Atlanta), Fulton, Georgia, USA. Also living in the house was his wife, Ella Womack, his daughter, Eva M Baer and Jessie Baer. The Atlanta Constitution reported on August 28, 1900 that Max Baer had been seriously ill. Several days prior he underwent surgery.4 Marx Bär died circa 2 November 1904. He was buried on 3 November 1904 at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, Fulton, Georgia.5
