Josef (ben Moses) Wimpfheimer married Zerla Marum, daughter of Marum (?). In late 1782 one of Joseph's daughters married in Bischofsheim, which was located outside of the Gemmingen-Gemmingen territory, where Ittlingen was situated. Local laws required Jews to pay a tax on the dowry taken outside of the ruler's territory. On 8 January 1783 Joseph Moyses requested that the lord of the Gemmingen-Gemmingen dominion not require him to pay the tax, as it had customarily not been required for a number of years.2 Josef Moses, age 80, adopted the name Wimpfheimer in 1809 at Ittlingen, Lkr. Heilbronn, Baden, Germany. The family also consisted of his wife, Zerle, age 66, his children Judit, age 27 and Marum, age 26. He was involved in Krämer und.
